The Women's Engineering Society (WES) is a charitable company founded in 1919. Over 100 years later, WES continues to operate as a membership organisation, aiming to support women in engineering to fulfil their potential and to help the engineering industry become more inclusive. Their vision is of an engineering sector that reflects the diversity of the society it serves, enabling it to solve the biggest societal challenges of our time.
WES supports women in engineering at every stage of their career through webinars and events, collaboration with professional bodies, networking, and mentoring. It also works with businesses and institutions to attract, retain, and develop female talent by offering access to a network of professionals and raising business profiles through equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) collaboration.
WES offers corporate partnerships that include free individual memberships for employees, complimentary tickets to WES events, job credits on the WES jobs board, access to exclusive partner webinars, and networking opportunities — all designed to enhance engagement and visibility within the engineering community.
WES also founded International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), celebrated annually on 23 June, as a global awareness campaign to elevate the profile of women in engineering and highlight the exciting career opportunities within the industry.
